This week in grade 1.

Monday January 11          library,    no fun

Tuesday January 12          no fun

Wednesday January 13       no fun

Thursday January 14            no fun

Friday January 15            book orders due, no fun


(if you are not sure about the "no fun"  ask your child).



We were busy our first week back after holidays.


We symbolically adopted a beaver as they are on the endangered list.

 We made New Year's resolutions.

We went to Jean Vanier to see a play and wrote a recount about it.

 We use recount writing to retell events or describe things that have happened.

To help us write we use a framework. 

Fist we write when, who, where.

Next we tell what happened and we use the sequencing words, first, next, then, finally, to tell the events in order.

Lastly we tell our feelings.

We will be working on writing recounts in our journals.
