We Are Now Studying Spelling in Grade One

We have started working on spelling.  Right now all of the children are working on one spelling list while they learn the routine.  When the routine is established, each student will be working on learning words to their ability levels.  Some children will have words that follow a pattern or word family (at, hat, pat, cat...) while other children will be working on more complex words or spelling patterns (night, fright, sight....).

The routine goes as follows:

Monday   We print the words in our agendas and in our spelling work books.

Words for Jan. 27-Jan. 30

  1. shop
  2. ship
  3. shed
  4. show
  5. mash
  6. crash
