Our Chicks

After 21 long days, our chicks finally hatched.

First the chick makes a small hole.  This is called pipping.

The chick works very hard  and the pipping continues.  Finally the chick pushes the shell apart.

And here is the chick!

And then another one.

And another one.

In the end, 10 hatched.  They were placed in the brooding bin.  Here they have food and water.  A heat lamp keeps them warm.

They are so cute!

The children love to watch them.

Thank you to Farmer Mike from
