Sunday May 11th     Happy Mother's Day!

We are learning about money.  The children earn money (plastic coins) for good behaviour, completing tasks and for doing jobs.  On Friday WEGNER MART was open and each child had a chance to purchase items.  WEGNER MART will be open this Friday as well.

The students need to be able to identify and describe various coins (i.e.,penny, nickel, dime, quarter, $1 coin, $2 coin), using coin manipulatives or drawings, and state their value (e.g., the value of a penny is one cent; the value of a toonie is two dollars).
We are working on representing money amounts to 20¢, through investigation using coin manipulatives (earing coins and shopping at WEGNER MART).

At home, please practise these skills  by investigating coins.  Look carefully at the pictures on the coins and their sizes.  Try to make 20 cents a variety of ways.

Sunday was 13 days,  The chick is developing the egg tooth.  Later the egg tooth will help the chick crack open the shell.

Wednesday will be 16 days.  Now the embryo really looks like a chick.  The chick has feathers.  The yolk is getting smaller as the chick is has used it as food.

The feet are bigger and stronger.  The chick is almost ready to come out of the egg.
